Minutes taken by Craig Everhart.

Minutes from today's call.

Attendees: Dan Ellard (Netapp), Renu Tewari (IBM), Paul LeMahieu
(Raindance/EMC), Craig Everhart (Netapp)

Dan spent a little time getting a refreshed requirements draft out that had
the ASCII-art figures intact.

We discussed some points from Dan's note:
        - The security model text seems good as updated.
        - All the normative references seem truly normative and not merely
informative.
        - The RFC 2119 requirements phrasing seems good.
        - This requirements document wouldn't have to give any Assigned
Numbers information. Whatever protocol(s) that are proposed to meet the
requirements would have to provide for their own reservation information.

We discussed caching in the NSDB client (based on the text in the last
paragraph of Section 4), and we agreed that some language would be welcome
in the requirements that indicated that stale NSDB results would not be used
forever. Details of how data freshness would be maintained are also left to
the protocol that meets these requirements. Dan agreed to draft text.

Dan expects to present this requirements document in a slice of the NFSv4
working group session at the IETF meeting in Chicago in July.

Dan would love for someone with some artistic flair, or good facility with
ASCII art, to take a crack at drafting better diagrams.

                Craig
